Anything but a card!

Hello and welcome,

Thank you for joining me as part of the Crafty Collaborations Blog Hop.  Demonstrators from around the world will be sharing what projects that have created for this month's theme 'Anything but a card!'

I knew instantly that it was time to get my scrap on, so I dived into my mountains of photographs that I need to scrap with and found this gorgeous photopgraph of my three granddaughters (soon to be four of them) as Lexi-Lu returns back to school.

Usually I know what papers, stamps etc I am going to use as I already know which photograph I want to use to go with them, but this time I found the photo first and matched things up to the photo.

I could not believe how many colours in the photograph matched Stampin' Up! colours - the brick wall was an exact match to Cinnamon Cider, the weeds (lol) was Shaded Spruce, Isla's dress was Terracotta Tile with Cinnamon Cider dots.  I just love the co-ordination that Stampin' Up! has to offer across their range of products.

The date is mounted on a die-cut scallop circle (Layering Circles) and I used a gold hoop onto the Gold Foil as it just framed the date.  By adding the bow from the Forevery Greenery ribbon twin pack it added the finishing touches.

For the ribbon I used a darning needle and weaved the gold thread through the Very Vanilla ribbon and attached with double-sided tape.

Thank you for taking the time to read this post, I hope you have enjoyed looking at what I have created.  It is now time for you to carry on with your Crafty Collaboration blog hop and head on over to have a look at what the lovely Jo is working on.

Technique Tuesday - Crafting with ribbon.

Hello and welcome,

Thank you for joining me as part of the Crafty Collaborations Blog Hop. Today you will see Demonstrators from around the world and the projects they have created using ribbon as they show you different techniques.

I chose to colour mine using the Stampin' Blend Markers

When I chose these colours, I had forgotten how much I loved them, I plan to enjoy them more in their last year as they will retire May 2022.

To colour the Crinkled Seam Ribbon I gently used the brush end of the nib and on a piece of scrap paper I placed the nib onto the ribbon and slowly pulled the ribbon along, any bits that got missed I just coloured over it.

The ribbon dries really quick and was ready to use within in a minute.  You will notice that this ribbon will become slightly stiffer which isn't a bad thing as it is quite a fly away static ribbon.

Here are two cards that I made using Flowers for Every Season memories and more cards, Jar of Flowers stamp set and the Crinkled Seam ribbon I coloured using Stampin' Blends:

I hope you have enjoyed looking at what I have created.  It is now time for you to carry on with your Crafty Collaborations blog hop and head on over to have a look at what everyone is working on.

Please see below the supply list of the products used in these projects:

Technique Tuesday - Die-Cutting

Hello and welcome,
You will be joining me directly or as part of the Crafty Collaborations Blog Hop where you will be visiting Demonstrators from around the world to see various projects that have been created using die-cutting techniques.

I chose to do one of my favourites which I have not used in a very long time, where you create a hinged die cut.

You fold your piece of card in half and the you place the die on top of the card with the hinged just before the cutting edge.

Then this hinged card was ready to use on the card I created for my Mum who passed away five years ago on the 6th February.  I attached the Peony Garden Designer Series Paper to the card base (14.85cm x 17.5cm scored at 10.5cm).

With the card closed I lined up the hinged insert after one side was embossed using the Script 3D embossing folder and attached it to the base, once this as done I was able to decorate the card and finish it off.

Well thank you for taking the time to read this post, I hope you have enjoyed looking at what I have created.  It is now time for you to carry on with your Crafty Collaboration blog hop and head on over to have a look at what everyone is working on.
