Back to School with Stampin' Up! Crafty Blog Hop

Welcome to my blog and thank you for stopping by as you either start your Blog Hop journey with me or you hopped on over from another blog.

For this month’s Blog Hop for the Crafty Blog Hop, the theme we were given was Back to School.  Sadly both of my girls have all grown up as they are now aged twenty-two and almost twenty nine years of age, however I have been bless with three gorgeous granddaughters aged nearly one, nearly four and nearly eleven.

For this Crafty Blog Hop, when the topic was released, I knew instantly which photographs I wanted to use, I decided to use my eldest Granddaughter Alexa (a.k.a. Lexi-Lu) photo from when her school celebrated World Book Day back in February and she decided to dress up as Hermione from Harry Potter, I was so happy as we are both very big Harry Potter fans and I knew I would look forward to scrapping those photos.

I instantly found the base sheet that I wanted to use in the Gilded Autumn Speciality Designer Series Paper pack, it was the reverse side of an embossed sheet but it was perfect for what I needed.  It matched the colour theme really well.

Having cut the swirl out from Stampin' Up! Stitched Shapes Dies I applied the colour to the swirl with sponge daubers and both Cherry Cobbler and Bumblebee inks to add colour.  I also cut out an additional swirl and used it to create a stencil so I could also dauber directly onto the patterned paper.

For the title I really wanted to mix it up so by using the Playful Alphabet dies it allowed me to do this with ease.  At some point I had the epiphany about how to create the ‘Hogwarts’ word of the title, I cut a strip of Cherry Cobbler card and then a thinner strip of Bumblebee card on top ready to die-cut the letters in the Gryffindor house colours.

I truly enjoyed crafting this scrapbook page and I am pleased as a result of me joining Blog Hops that it is really helping me to find my mojo and craft for a purpose.

Gorgeous Posies by Stampin' Up! Crafty Blog Hop

Thank you so much for visiting my blog and welcome.

This is my first time participating in the Crafty Blog Hop and I eager to see what everyone else has crafted with this month’s theme - Gorgeous Posies Card Kit by Stampin’ Up!

When I first saw this kit, I knew instantly that I just had to have it, I loved the choice of colours with Blackberry Bliss being one of my favourite colours, but I also love how well the colours all work together.

As soon as I buy a Stampin’ Up! kit I always create one of each design following the instructions, then I will change it up slightly for my version.  After that anything goes as this kit had four designs and sixteen cards in total so this left me with plenty of scope.

For today’s Crafty Blog hop I will be showing you four of my favourite cards that made using the products provided, it was great fun mixing them up.

With each of these cards I changed how they were done from the instructions, I fussy cut, chopped the cards, raised them up using Stampin' Up! Mini Dimensionals and swapped greetings onto different die-cuts.

I was enjoying myself so much that I got carried away and made a total of twenty-four cards (I used additional Stampin’ Up! cardstock to create extra blanks) and I would have been more then happy to carry on creating as I still have elements of the kit left over.

Please see below the supply list of the products used in these projects:

Oh my! How lovely is this Gorgeous Posies kit by Stampin' Up!?

Introducing the Gorgeous Posies Semi Inclusive Card Kit

I just wanted to introduce you to this semi-inclusive card kit. Stampin’ Up! have created a truly stunning semi-inclusive card kit called Gorgeous Posies that was launched back in June in their annual catalogue.  What I love about this set is that they also released the Gorgeous Posies stamp set to be used with this kit, but can also be used as a standalone stamp set.

When you receive this kit, it is all packed inside a lovely keepsake box that can be used again once all the cards have been completed.  This lovely kit has everything that you need to create sixteen cards (four of each designs).   The keepsake box contains card bases, co-ordinating envelopes, die-cuts, ribbon and twine.

Stampin’ Up! have also provided a full colour instructions sheet so you will be able to recreate the cards, or you can be creative and use the products to do your own designs.  In addition to the kit and stamp set you will need to use the co-ordinating Stampin' Up! ink pads

I truly enjoyed using this set and at the end I still have several elements left over to be used in other crafting creations.  Why not pop back tomorrow as I will be posting again showing you what I created using this kit as part of the Crafty Blogs Hop.

My Sunday Rewind Revisited

On Sunday I posted 'My Sunday Rewind' which was about three projects that I had made in the early days of lockdown - a 12” x 12” scrapbook page, Pop Up card and a Mini Smarties Caddy.  The Stampin’ Up! products that I had used retired in the original post when the new catalogue launched, so I thought it was only fair that I recreated them using current Stampin’ Up! projects.  Any excuse to craft…

I found it quite easy to decide that I wanted to use Nothing’s Better Than stamp set with the co-ordinating Love You More Than dies by Stampin’ Up!

When I was creating the scrapbooking page it just flowed and came together so well, trust me this does not happen very often when I craft.  The three colours - Flirty Flamingo, Daffodil Delight and Mint Macaroon were the perfect colours for what I wanted to achieve; I already knew which three photographs I wanted to use as I had had them developed recently ready to scrap with.

I used the Flirty Flamingo, Daffodil Delight and Mint Macaroon and a Sponge Brayer to create the colourful background that was needed to create a background for the photographs to be mounted onto, so I had a little brainwave of using the raised side of the Tasteful Textures 3D embossing folder and Crumb Cake ink pad to create my own background.

Using various stamps in the set and Smoky Slate ink pad I created a background for the base page, stamped several images that I die-cut out and mounted using Dimensionals.  To add a little bit of sparkle I gently brushed over the stamped pieces using the Wink of Stella Glitter Brush, just enough to add that little something.

I hope you have enjoyed looking at My Sunday Rewind Revisited and hope you will come back to look at how I have recreated the Pop Up card and Mini Smarties Caddy.

The products I have used include:

CELEBRATION time...

On Saturday I attended the The Stampin' STYlettes Team Training that is offered by my lovely Upline Mikaela,  I was truly happy as nearly all of my team was able to attend and I appreciate how many miles some had to travel to be there. Just one of my downlines who lives in Paris was able to attend so I will let her off ha ha.

As part of the Team Training we get to recognise everyone who has achieved something during the past month (usually done through the post).

It was with great pleasure that I was able to recognise Sarah's promotion with Stampin' Up! to Silver title, this is a great achievement as Sarah has worked really hard to get to this point.

Sarah was presented with a handcrafted card that I created and the gift of a silver Pandora charm that she will be able to wear with the charm that she also received from my Upline.

The bonus of buying this lovely gift it that I get to make a nice little packaging box for the charm to be presented in and a card.

These gifts were in addition to the rewards that Stampin' Up! give for achieving your promotion, so it is win win.

Both the card and the gift box were created using Grace's Garden stamp set and coordinating dies which are in the Stampin' Up! Spring and Summer mini catalogue (p.13).  These are available to order by visiting my online Stampin' Up! store.

** Extra Celebration Time **

When Sarah got promoted to silver it resulted in me being promoted to SILVER ELITE.

It is such a great feeling and I am eternally grateful for all of the effort that Sarah had put in to achieve her promotion as I would not have been able to do it without her.

Huge THANK YOU to Mikaela for my lovely gift, it feeds my Pandora addiction.
